If you have been keeping up with the latest trends in interior design you will know that one of the most popular and practical flooring is wood. Whether you wish to capture the rustic character of an older house or create a stylish new look for a modern apartment, wood flooring is a great addition to any room bringing elegance and contemporary chic to the space.
If you lift the carpet in most rooms in your house you are likely to find wooden flooring. From tired looking floorboards to a hiden wood block or parquet treasure. These floors can with our help be renovated to look stunning, giving the space a great look. Wood floors have so much character and will last a lot longer than a carpet. They will also increase the value of you property and are certainly a great investment.
Wood flooring is clean and hypo-allergenic. Unlike a carpet it does not provide a home for those unwanted little creatures, insect eggs, pollen and other allergens, thus it provides a much healthier environment.
For wooden floors we can:-
- Lay new
- Supply maintenance kits and cleaning products
Do not despair when you lift you carpet and find a very sad looking wood floor. There are varying degrees of renovation required on all floors. We can repair or replace split or broken boards, insert reclaimed boards where an old floor has had a new board inserted in the past. We can take out unwanted hearths, reinstate joist work and re-run floorboards. It is possible to replace damaged wood blocks and parquet fingers and if necessary we can get replacement blocks made to order.
This can all be done before the floor is sanded, gaps between boards maybe filled and coloured stains can be applied, then the floor will finished with either, varnish in matt, satin or gloss. Alternatively the floor could be waxed, painted or oiled, we will advise you of the pro’s and con’s and help you make the right choice for you circumstances.
